Gratitude – 10/18/2008
Today, I am grateful for:
1. Garfield Minus Garfield. It’s amusing, existential, and sometimes unnerving to read a comic where the main character has been entirely removed. It’s also a good reminder that less is more — something many a modern comedy could remember — and that we can look for humour in most any place. Including places where people have already created it.
2. Roller Coasters. First, because I enjoy the adrenaline surge of staring down the maw of a 50 foot vertical drop; and second, because it’s really entertaining to watch my wife in the seat beside me as she squints shut her eyes and squeals non-stop for a full 90 seconds.
3. Bailey’s. When we got back from our adventure at the theme park today, my wife and I made Bailey’s and hot chocolate. We used the milk steamer in our espresso maker to foam it all up, and I must say that it was rather delicious.
Hmm… that’s two days in a row where I’ve been grateful for different kinds of alcohol. Methinks that in future posts I should dwell on some less suspect indulgences.

Thanks for sharing that Garfield minus Garfield link… I found that very funny. I did, however, really miss your usual link commentaries in the alt text. I have so often bust a gut over these… Still chuckling about your Wedding Singer ‘Wait for it…’
I wasn’t sure if anyone actually noticed those – thanks for that! I’ll be sure to populate the alt texts from here on out.
